Dominican Sisters Conference Announces Interim Director
“The Executive Committee of the Dominican Sisters Conference is pleased to announce that Mary Ellen O’Grady, OP (Sinsinawa) will serve as the Interim Director of the DSC as of April. She will serve in this role while a Search Committee begins its work to name a new Executive Director. The former Executive Director, Sr. Pat Farrell, OP, has taken a position at Santa Sabina Retreat Center, San Rafael, CA. Pat will conclude her DSC service March 22.”
Dominican Sisters of Adrian: Catholic Charities USA Joins Coalition to Make Housing a National Priority
“Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA) joined a coalition of organizations involved in the Opportunity Starts at Home Campaign, focused on making affordable housing a national priority. Leaders of these organizations participated in a panel discussion during a special event, 'Broadening the Movement: Housing as a National Priority in 2020,' held January 16, 2020, at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.”
Dominican Sisters of Amityville: Congratulations to S. Eileen Carrig Who Was Honored by Alma Mater: St. Sebastian's
“Congratulations to Amityville Dominican Sister Eileen Carrig who was recognized on January 26, 2020 at a parish Mass at St. Sebastian's Church in Brooklyn in honor of Catholic Schools Week. S. Eileen received an award for Distinguished Alumni in Education for her 58 years in the field of education.”
Dominican Sisters of Blauvelt: Siena House Celebrates 30 Years of Caring
“January 23, 2020, was a milestone for the Siena House community as they came together to celebrate their 30th Anniversary. Siena House, a ministry founded by the Sisters of Saint Dominic of Blauvelt, is a family shelter in the Bronx that provides transitional housing for pregnant women, as well as women with children under the age of three.”
