Dominican Temporary Professed and Companions Meet Virtually

The annual Temps.Com gathering has provided a valued space for Dominican sisters in temporary vows (“temps”) and their formation companions (“com”) to come together for a weekend of prayer, relationship building, and discernment. This year, nine temps and six companions from the Dominican Sisters of Adrian, Caldwell, Peace, Sinsinawa, and Springfield met virtually.

Sisters Write Letters, Hold Virtual Mass for Sponsored Schools

Sinsinawa sponsored educational ministries have been dealing with much uncertainty and COVID fatigue. Sisters recognize the struggle and offer a support in the form of messages of gratitude and an invitation to celebrate the Mass of the Holy Spirit.

Dominican Youth Movement Newsletter


Dominican Youth Movement USA offers programs thatthe connection between the Dominican tradition of preaching and the participants’ own call to preach, while also fulfilling the demand for leadership training and preaching opportunities. Along with other important news involving DYMUSA participants, each month the newsletter will feature a former youth preacher, high school conference preacher, college conference preacher or Dominican Young Adult preacher. Non Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons Treaty is Ratified


Within a month of Sr. Ardeth Platte's passing, Ireland ratified the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons. Eighty-four countries have signed the treaty but have yet to ratify it. Let us continue the life-long mission of Sr. Ardeth and push for an end to nuclear weapons. 

Sister Spotlight: Sr. Noreen Walsh, OP

As Health Care Coordinator for the Sisters of Saint Dominic of Blauvelt, Sr. Noreen's responsibilities involve “working closely with sisters on a one to one basis.” Since the beginning of the Pandemic, Sr. Noreen had to pivot and completely adapt her ministry to best care for her fellow sisters.
Elizabeth "Liz" Klas, OPA

Grand Rapids Associate Liz Klas ministers in theology at a small Bible school, Alaska Bible Institute, in Homer, AK, during the school year. She teaches practices such as Lectio Divina, Ignatian Prayer, the Examen and Centering Prayer, all which her students thoroughly enjoy as they connect more deeply to God.
Workshops Explore Deep Ecology, Council of All Beings

Paula Hirschboeck, a Soto Zen Buddhist teacher and priest from Madison, WI, will lead two virtual workshops in which participants will gain appreciation of our connection with Earth and nonhuman beings.

Sinsinawa Mound Center is offering a Grief Retreat: Journey toward Wholeness. This retreat is will help those who have experienced the loss of a loved one celebrate the holidays while still acknowledging the loss.
